I heartily endorse the film "The Paper will be Blue". I saw it on SBS one night by chance and was enthralled.
"Out of enthusiasm, a Militia soldier abandons his platoon and decides to fight for the cause of the Revolution. His Lieutenant and the rest of the crew look for him during the confused night of 22-23 December 1989." - IMDb
It gives you a view of humanity, and relevant to us here, the aesthetics and feel of being a soldier inside an APC. It is a Romanian film set at the time of the revolution against communism there. A truly fantastic film to watch, provided you like good (foreign) films :)
Damn...now I want to watch it again!
